Community Corner

Colonialists, Churches and Silver

The Roslindale Historical Society is hosting a presentation by Dr. Mary Ann Millsap of Roslindale, who will speak about the lives of families who donated silver(of great value as currency years ago) to the Second Parish of Roxbury.  The church was originally built in 1712 on Weld Street, moved to Church and Center Streets, then to Corey and Centre Streets.  It is now the Theodore Parker Unitarian Church. For its 300th Anniversary Dr. Millsap researched the history of the Church.  You are sure to enjoy a slice of Roslindale's and West Roxbury's  history, and the important roles many made to the communities.  http://www.facebook.com/RoslindaleHistorical%20Society
