Salsa, Swing, Move and Groove into September as Faneuil Hall Marketplace makes some noise with a series of FREE events where all are welcome to participate. On a budget? These events are led by professional instructors teaching dance classes including salsa, swing and contra, and the latest exercise craze, POUND® fitness, the 2nd annual Mega Musical Chairs competition and more! Best of all, the events are held outdoor in the middle of the most historic market district in the city of Boston. Bring your friends, have some fun and enjoy the magical atmosphere of Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Then head to one of the Marketplace’s great restaurants, pubs or the world-famous Food Colonnade in Quincy Market. The events are appropriate for all age groups and are part of the year-long celebration of the 40th anniversary of the re-opening of Faneuil Hall Marketplace. This unique cardio jam session is inspired by the infectious, energizing and sweat-dripping fun of playing the drums. You won’t just listen to music—you’ll become the music in this exhilarating, full-body workout that combines conditioning and strength training with yoga and Pilates-inspired movements. Named after Miami's area code, 305 Fitness is a dance cardio workout sweeping the east coast. Each class infuses dance moves, sports drills and high-intensity interval training to create a full-body, fun workout. Featuring a live DJ and the city's best instructors, this non-stop cardio class feels like a night out partying disguised as a workout.
Plein Air Paint Out
Friday, September 16 to Sunday, September 18
The three-day Paint Out invites professional, amateur and student plein air painters to capture iconic Boston scenes of architecture, markets, crowds, and street performers. Painters are encouraged to use any painting medium over the three days. A final show, "group draw", prizes, and two-week exhibition, will offer artists many opportunity to show their work to thousands of daily visitors to the marketplace
