Open Studios So Much More Than One Weekend

Roslindale Open Studios is the weekend of November 4, but there is still so much more to do - and maybe you'd like to help.

"If you are planning on attending Roslindale Open Studios, why not make a day of it and volunteer before or after your visit to the art venues. Art Ambassadors provide a valuable service to the community and help to make the visitors' and artists' experience organized and enjoyable. It is fun and rewarding!" wrote Mark Eclipse, volunteer coordinator for Roslindale Open Studios.

Volunteers are wanted for three hour shifts to greet visitors at the group locations on Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Volunteers are also wanted to distribute flyers prior to the event to surrounding communities.

Some Roslindale Open Studio artists are also walking in the Roslindale Day Parade on Oct. 14.

And if you've ever wondered whether all the artists get to meet up - they do, and will on Oct. 11, during which time artists can network, gather marketing materials, learn about logistics, as well as learn about each other's work.
