Pride Day @ Faneuil Hall
Come celebrate Boston Pride's 47th Anniversary – Stronger Together and the first High Heel Dash for Charity
(Boston, MA) – May 16, 2017 – Boston Pride today announced that Faneuil Hall Marketplace is hosting the 17th annual Pride Day @ Faneuil Hall on Saturday, June 3rd from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., filled with family fun and entertainment all day. The festivities include Zumba classes, music and dance performances, drag queens, and new this year, the first High Heel Dash for Charity.
“This year’s Boston Pride theme is ‘Stronger Together’ which also highlights the support of the LGBTQ community by allies who attend our various events. Faneuil Hall Marketplace has been a great partner over the years and continues to support our community through hosting Pride Day @ Faneuil Hall, where many straight allies and their families show their support for LGBTQ people”, said Sylvain Bruni.
The High Heel Dash for Charity will take place at 11 a.m., just north of Faneuil Hall Marketplace at the corner of Hanover and Union Streets. Participants, all wearing high heel shoes, will dash down Union Street and arrive at the finish line at the Marketplace to join the annual Pride Day @ Faneuil Hall celebration. Entry fees from the dash will benefit the Boston Pride Community Fund which offers financial support to small, grassroots organizations through annual grants. “Faneuil Hall Marketplace is excited for this year’s Pride Day @ Faneuil Hall which is sure to be spectacular,” said Carol Troxell, President of Faneuil Hall Marketplace Merchants Association. “Our merchants are thrilled to return as part of Pride Week as we honor and celebrate the local LGBTQ community with a fun filled day for everyone to enjoy.”
The events are free and open to the public, and celebrate the diversity of the local LGBTQ community.
