Roslindale Girl Scout elected to Board of Directors

Heather Mulkerrin elected to serve as girl member of Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts' Board of Directors.

BOSTON, MA (May 24, 2018) — Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts (GSEMA) elected Heather Mulkerrin of Roslindale to serve as a girl member on its Board of Directors, during the council’s Annual Meeting on May 9, 2018. Voting members of the council elected this year’s slate, which includes five new adult board members, four new girl board members, and three Board Nominating and Development Committee members. The Board of Directors is chaired by Tricia Tilford.

“Our Board of Directors plays an essential role in advancing our one and only mission: to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place,” said Denise Burgess, Chief Executive Officer, Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts. “We are pleased to welcome our newly elected board members, whose unique, diverse backgrounds and strong commitment to the Girl Scout Mission will help ensure girls continue to reach their full potential as leaders, through the best girl leadership experience in the country.”

Heather is a high school junior at Boston Latin School and has been a Girl Scout since Brownie level. She earned the Bronze and Silver Awards and is currently pursuing the Gold Award; her project involves bringing literature to elementary school students. She is a certified babysitter through Girl Scouts, currently working with young children between the ages of five months to ten years. She is also an active pet sitter. Heather studied Latin for four years and is a fourth-year student of German. She has an interest in public speaking and is pursuing a career in public service with the hope of becoming a local politician.
