Roslindale residents Itsva Hernandez and Edgar Miranda graduate from The Rivers School in Weston

Roslindale residents Itsva M. Hernandez and Edgar J. Miranda were among 93 students to graduate from The Rivers School in Weston.

WESTON, MA— Roslindale residents Itsva M. Hernandez and Edgar J. Miranda were among 93 students to graduate from The Rivers School in Weston on Friday, June 10.

Itsva Hernandez was a member of Rivers’ Conservatory Program, playing violin in the Upper School Chamber Orchestra. She was one of 44 Project STEP music students who were honored in 2015 with a National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award, administered by the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities. She also performs with the New England Conservatory Orchestra and gives private violin lessons to Project STEP students. The daughter of Andres Hernandez and Itsva Cerritos, Itsva will attend University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth in the fall.

Edgar Miranda was a four-year member of the football team, two-year member of the varsity basketball team, went on the New Orleans service trip over spring break as a junior, and gave back to the 10th Grade RISE program as a RISE mentor his senior year. Edgar travelled to the National Service Learning Conference to present on the RISE program’s feedback process and how it impacted his growth. He was also a Red Key tour guide, serving as an ambassador for the school to prospective families. The son of Maribel Duprey, Edgar will attend Hobart and William Smith Colleges in the fall.
