State Police Arrest Drunk Driver Who Injured Two Pedestrians, Including a Good Samaritan
The Roslindale Good Samaritan suffered serious injuries, and was transported by ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

A Chelsea man is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday in Chelsea District Court on a drunk driving charge after he crashed into a disabled car in Revere early Saturday and pushed that car into two pedestrians – the driver of the disabled car and a Good Samaritan who had stopped to help her, according to Massachusetts State Police.
Trooper Brendan Murphy arrested, 27, Nicholas Schaeneman, of Chelsea, after responding to the crash, which occurred at 2:10 a.m. Saturday on Route 1 southbound at the intersection with Route 60 in Revere.
Trooper Murphy’s investigation determined that Schaeneman was driving a 2012 Honda Civic southbound when he struck a 2001 Civic that had become disabled on the side of the road.

The impact from the crash pushed the disabled Civic into two pedestrians who were standing near the disabled car. Both pedestrians were injured, a 20-year-old Lynn woman, who was the driver of the disabled car, and a 39-year-old Roslindale man, a Good Samaritan who had stopped and exited his own car in an attempt to help the stranded woman.
The Roslindale Good Samaritan suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, according to state police. The Lynn woman suffered minor injuries and also was transported to MGH. The name of the victims were not released.

Trooper Murphy determined that Shaeneman was impaired and took him into custody. The defendant was booked at the State Police Revere Barracks on charges of operating under the influence of alcohol causing serious bodily injury; negligent operation of a motor vehicle; possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle; and a marked lanes violation.
He was held on $100,000 cash bail pending his arraignment on Monday.
