While McDonald's still pushes our collective tummies toward "Super Size" everything, the trend on the home front (forgive the pun) is for smaller houses. Despite the fact that the size of the average American household has actually diminished in the past several years, home builders were still designing bigger homes. (No surprise that they were referred to as "McMansions.")
