SALEM, MA — Three of the pit bulls that were found abandoned and wandering the streets of Salem last month are now at the Northeast Animal Shelter and ready, or soon to be ready, to find their forever homes.

The MSPCA said the dogs were found malnourished and showed signs of abuse and neglect when they were found on March 19 and then remained in the care of Salem Animal Control for about three weeks.

On April 7, three of them — named by staff as Sassy, BamBam and Pebbles — were transferred to the Northeast Animal Shelter and are now ready for adoption.
