8,000 Without Power in Salem and Lynn: Police

Thousands of Salem residents reportedly lost power Wednesday afternoon.

SALEM, MA — Thousands of Salem and Lynn residents lost electric service Wednesday afternoon.

At approximately 1 p.m., the Salem Police Department reported that around 8,000 residents had lost power. Police stated that National Grid would be working to restore the issue.

It did not appear that power had been out for too long, as residents reported that their service had been restored shortly after Mayor Kimberly Driscoll posted on her Facebook page alerting residents of the outage.
