SALEM, MA — A threat via the Sandy Hook Promise anonymous reporting system sent Salem High into a brief shelter-in-place on Thursday morning.
School officials said students were never in danger and the shelter-in-place was called "out of an abundance of caution."
Salem police performed a sweep of the high school while students remained in classrooms.
"We have received information that SHS is one of several schools in Eastern Massachusetts simultaneously experiencing non-credible swatting threats," school officials said.
Regular learning resumed later Thursday morning, according to officials.
