2012 Salem High School Baseball Banquet

The Salem High School Baseball Banquet held this past Thursday at the Moose Hall in Salem was a great success and a good time had by all that were in attendance. Following the delicious meal by the Moose, the awards ceremony was kicked off by Head Coach Jim Tjettis. All players recieved recognition followed by gifts and awards. Guest speaker Coach Dana from St.Mary's of Lynn gave a speach that would open the eye's of any high school athlete to move on to a sport in college and give it there all. Coach Tjettis talked of the season, especially how the Varsity team came out stronger this year and opened the eyes of all the other competitors. After Coach Tjettis announced his retirement from Salem, Varsity Captain, Teghan Malionek spoke of Coach Tjettis and all of his accomplishments throughout his years of coaching and how he helped so many young athletes. Coach was amazed at how much Teghan knew of his past coaching history. Tjettis will definitely be missed by everyone that had the opportunity to work and play for him. At the end of the ceremony, the senior varsity players presented gifts to the Coach. We will all miss you Coach!
