Bluebikes Free On 'Mindful Mondays' Through End Of August
Blue Cross is making the bikes free in Bluebike cities and towns, including Arlington, Brookline, Newton, Salem and Somerville.

SALEM, MA — Arlington, Brookline, Newton, Salem and Somerville residents and visitors are able to ride around those cities and towns for free on Mondays through the end of August as part of the Bluebike "Mindful Mondays" initiative.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is making free passes for the bikes available in its 11 municipalities during this month. Other cities served are Boston, Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, Revere and Watertown.
Bluebikes are owned by the municipalities and operated by Lyft with Blue Cross as the title sponsor.

Cyclists can get their free ride by downloading the Bluebikes app and selecting "Adventure Pass," then entering the appropriate code. Each code will unlock one free Adventure Pass for unlimited two-hour rides over a 24-hour period.

"The last several years have reinforced that mental health is essential to overall wellbeing, which is aligned with our commitment to supporting healthy communities across the Commonwealth," said Jeff Bellows, vice president of corporate citizenship and public affairs at Blue Cross. "We hope that Metro Boston residents can get outside, practice mindfulness and enjoy a Bluebikes ride during a month that’s dedicated to whole-body wellness."
