It’s been awhile since I have blogged, but some BIG things have happened in my life so I haven’t had much time to write, one of the big things is that I got married! I wanted to share how much fun it is to get married in Salem.. .my fiancé and I got married on December 8, 2012 and it was perfect!
We wanted to keep the wedding local and small with just our immediate family and Salem came through for me again! To start off we got our wedding bands from Bernard's Jewelers in Salem they were extremely helpful in helping us find our "forever rings". We did this during the Halloween craziness, which added a whole new dimension to wedding shopping in Salem ;)!
I took a Facebook poll from my friends on florist they recommend in Salem and I went with Dave Engs Flowers in Salem. I worked with Dave's wife Jackie there. Talk about customer service...Jackie is AMAZING!!!! Not only did she make my ceremony and reception absolutely gorgeous with her flowers, she gave me advice on dresses, she picked up items for me that needed to be brought to the restaurant, and went with D (my now husband) and I to our reception site to make a perfect plan to help decorate it in the vision we had. She answered all my emails immediately and made every day leading up to our day run smoothly. I never gave flowers much of a though except by how pretty they are BUT after my time with Jackie I have a stronger appreciation for how flowers can make you feel or how they give such life to a room. I was so flower happy that I actually decided to go without a veil and just wear a flower in my hair and I loved it!

Next up was hair and make-up! My hair was done by my extremely talented hair stylist and my very close friend Karen of Karen Sutton Hair Studio of Marblehead BUT she came to my apartment in Salem to do my hair…so it was a Salem thing..heehee! My make-up was done by Jennifer, at Rouge Cosmetics in Salem. I always trust Rouge to make me look my best! Jennifer was fantastic not only with my make-up but helping me figure out how I wanted my make-up look, to look! Jen was great in helping me feel and look my best and even embraced my indeciveness by testing out a couple of different looks on me.
Finding a place to get married was the most difficult part. We decided to get married on a Saturday afternoon at 62 Restaurant and Wine Bar, so happy we went with this choice! 62 made our day so special, delicious, and more than I could have ever wished/asked for. There smaller room in the back is where we held our ceremony, and even though we had a small wedding the room felt completely filled with people and love. We had the reception afterwards in the main room where we had four long tables fill the length of the room with our family, flowers, and happiness. The food was absolutely exceptional and it was planned out specifically for our wedding down to even the menus that embraced our theme to our wedding titled at the top of it “Love Is All You Need” . Cassandra our event contact at 62 was extremely helpful into making sure that 62 felt completely like our own unique wedding place that day…she let us take it over and helped to make sure it went smoothly.

We also got married by a Justice of The Peace who we met at Salem's city hall when we went to apply for our marrige licence. She was so sweet and worked with us to have the ceremony we wanted.
It did rain on our wedding day but that didn’t stop Nikki our photographer from taking some beautiful photos outside in the Salem air .
Another reason why Salem will always be special to me is because it is the place where I fully gave my heart to the love of my life. <3
Thanks for all the love Salem!
