Emmy® Award winning Filmmaker, Vincent Straggas presents his latest Feature Length Documentary, Life On The Other Planet. The definitive history, of the greatest era in Boston Rock n Roll. Featuring live interviews and music from some of its greatest talent. This, combined with historic footage, tells the story of a gritty, yet wonderful city, Boston, Massachusetts.
Q &amp; A:Following the film will be a Q&amp;A with director Vincent Straggas and Willie Loco Alexander as well as Steve Cataldo and Brad Hallen from Nervous Eaters.

ARTIST STATEMENT
This&nbsp;show&nbsp;is&nbsp;a&nbsp;culmination&nbsp;of&nbsp;my&nbsp;creative&nbsp;exploration&nbsp;throughout&nbsp;these&nbsp;past&nbsp;four&nbsp;years&nbsp;that I have spent working on my bachelors degree. I wanted this show to reflect what I have learned and my own thoughts and ideas regarding the expansive world of art. I focused on creating tactile work for many reasons.
One idea is based on my observations of life after covid, how physical contact has become&nbsp;anxiety&nbsp;inducing&nbsp;rather&nbsp;than&nbsp;comforting.&nbsp; This&nbsp;addresses&nbsp;the&nbsp;consequences&nbsp;of&nbsp;a primarily digital age lacking the ability to engage the human instinct to touch.
As we press on into the age of AI and other technological advancements, many of&nbsp;which&nbsp;have&nbsp;great&nbsp;potential,&nbsp;we&nbsp;risk&nbsp;the&nbsp;loss&nbsp;of&nbsp;traditional&nbsp;craftsmanship.&nbsp;Many&nbsp;traditional methods of craft can accomplish things that will never be possible using different technology. I believe this knowledge should be respected, valued, and preserved. Fundamentals will certainly outlive any new technology developed.
In addition to that, I discovered a number of visually impaired artists who opened my eyes (no pun intended) to the greater possibilities of life and art. I thought about the uncertainty&nbsp;of&nbsp;life&nbsp;and&nbsp;considered&nbsp;the&nbsp;possibility&nbsp;of&nbsp;losing&nbsp;my&nbsp;own&nbsp;sight&nbsp;and&nbsp;how&nbsp;much visual art depends on only one of the five senses. &nbsp;I wanted to create tactile work with the intention for visually impaired people to directly experience my work without the need for accommodation or translation. I’ve continued to research blind and visually impaired artists who create amazing tactile artwork that I find inspiring.

The University Band presents its end of semester concert , "3-D Concert (Dances, Divas and Disney!) under the direction of Cynthia Napierkowski. The program includes dances from classical and folk traditions, a tribute to Aretha Franklin, "Disney at the Movies", and much more.&nbsp;
The program will also include a performance by the Flute Ensemble led by Eileen Yarrison.&nbsp;
 Admission is free. Goodwill donations at the door are welcome in support of the work of the department.&nbsp;
The Recital Hall is located on the ground floor of 71 Loring Avenue. Parking is available directly across the street in the lot marked F/C.

&nbsp;Breath and Line pairs late Romantic chamber music for winds and strings with live visual art. From Amy Beach’s luminous flute Variations to the autumnal depth of Brahms’ Clarinet Quintet, from Elgar’s intimate Romance for bassoon to the radiant warmth of Florence Price’s Adoration, we trace how far a single melodic line can stretch, and how much feeling a single breath can hold.
Breath and Line continues our multi sensory, accessible series “Notes on Belonging”. As the music unfolds, visual artists respond in real time, tracing the contours and phrasing of the performance. The result is an immersive exploration of breath, movement, and line.

The Community House

Join us for the Spring Artisan Market -&nbsp; Mother’s Day Pop-Up, a curated indoor event featuring local artists, handmade goods, and fine art. Guests can enjoy interactive activities, a food truck, beverages, and live music from 10–12 PM. Charlestown-born Steve Sweeney is known as the "undisputed King of Boston comedy“, the embodiment of the city he calls home, a local guy who has become a nationally recognizable talent.
Sweeney is known not only as a headlining comedian, but also through his many memorable TV and movie appearances. During the early 1970s, a small group of Boston 'would-be' comedians performed regularly at a comedy club started by Martin Olson and Barry Crimmins in a back room of the Chinese restaurant, Ding-Ho, near Inman Square in Cambridge, MA. This group also included such unknowns as Lenny Clarke, Kevin Meaney, Jay Leno, Bobcat Goldthwait, Bill Sohonage, and Steven Wright. Steve stood out from the crowd by incorporating his great insight into the New England political scene into his act.
He was the first of the Boston super-stars to break into television, appearing on "Park Street Under," a Boston based sitcom that many believe was the inspiration for the highly successful television show "Cheers." He's also been on "Late Night with David Letterman," "Evening at The Improv" and "Comics Come Home." You might remember his small but hilarious parts in films such as Rodney Dangerfield's "Back to School," Judd Apatow's "Celtic Pride," and "There's Something About Mary" with Ben Stiller.

Art studio focused on the art of printmaking, founded in 2019 by artist duo, Sammia Atoui &amp; Adrian Rodriguez, the studio creates limited edition fine art works on paper.
