Celtics Honor Salem Man Who Saved Life In Reading
Brandon Finnen risked his life to pull an unconscious woman from a burning car last summer.

BOSTON, MA -- The Boston Celtics have recognized "outstanding individuals who have made exceptional and lasting contributions to their communities" before every home game through its "Heroes Among Us" prorgam since 1997. Last night, it was Brandon Finnen's turn to be honored by the Celtics and the Massachusetts State Lottery, which sponsors the program.
Finnen, of Salem, was at a cookout in Reading last summer when he heard the horrifying sound of a car crash. He rushed to the scene where he found a car that had crashed into a utility pole on fire, its driver unconscious and trapped inside. As the flames intensified, Finnen smashed the windows of the car and pulled the woman inside to safety.
Finnen was recognized in a pre-game ceremony Wednesday night before the Celtics played the Washington Wizards.
