SALEM, MA — A child was transported to an area hospital with what were described as non-life threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Salem Thursday evening. According to scanner reports, the crash happened around 7 p.m. on Lafayette Street near the Marblehead town line. Rescue workers from both communities responded to the crash.
