Salem Expects Water Service To Be Restored By 10 PM Wednesday
The city opens warming station, as it could be Thursday before water service is fully restored.

SALEM, MA -- Salem officials said they expect full water service to be retored by 10 pm Wednesday after a watermain break left people in the area of 220 Highland Street without water. Residents who lost water service can expect dicolored water when service is initially restored. The city is advising residents to run water until it runs clear and not do laundry until any discoloration is gone.
On Thursday, crews will be out working to repair the section of Highland Avenue that were torn up. the city is asking people to expect traffic delays and avoid the street if at all possible. Meanwhile, the city closed a warming center it had set up at Collins Middle School at 7 pm.
Finally, Salem Public Schools announced they would be open for a full school day on Thursday. Several schools, including Salem High School, had low pressure throughout the day on Wednesday.
