Edward Zielinski Remembered For Dedication To Witchcraft Heights

SALEM, MA — Salem Public Schools is remembering Edward Zielinski, the first principal of Witchcraft Heights Elementary School, whose death was announced on Monday.

Witchcraft Heights Principal Leanne Smith broke the news of Zielinski's death in a message to the school community.

Zielinski was involved in the building and planning of the school and was its principal from 1972 to 1995.

"(Zielinski) then dedicated most of his professional life, and personal life for that matter, to the (Witchcraft Heights) community," Smith said. "He truly loved his work and this school."

Smith said Zielinski remained involved with the district through a scholarship fund in his name.

"As well as reaching out to give me many pointers and words of wisdom guiding me in my work," Smith said. "I will be forever grateful for his support."
