Elderly Man Pushed Down by Group, Employee Dispute: Salem Police Logs

Sept. 11
1:oo a.m.: Police responded to Lawrence Street for a noise complaint. A man was met at the home, and police found no disturbance. He was advised of the complaint.
1:44 a.m.: Police observed a man laying down in the Gazebo at Salem Common. He was awakened and sent on his way.

7:31 a.m.: Police responded to the Dunkin Donuts on Bridge Street for a dispute between an employee and his boss. Police made contact with the boss, who stated he got into a heated argument with one of his employees. The boss stated he asked the employee not to eat food while at the drive-thru window, and an argument began. The employee was upset that his boss wanted him to sign a written warning, and felt a verbal warning was good enough. The employee stated he was going home for the day and would come back to work tomorrow with a better attitude.
1:56 p.m.: Police were dispatched to Loring Avenue for a neighbor dispute where a small window screen was damaged. After speaking with those involved, the parties agreed to stay away from each other and pay for the screen to be repaired. All were satisfied with the outcome.

2:30 p.m.: A woman wanted to report that someone opened up a box that belonged to her and removed several items including two watches and a portable CD player.
7:49 p.m.: Police were dispatched to the area of Loring Avenue and Rainbow Terrace for two young children demanding wallets of college students walking by. Police were unable to locate any children in the area.
9:20 p.m.: Units were dispatched to the area of Charter Street for a report of an elderly male pushed down by a group. Officers spoke to a man who related that he was walking in the area of Essex Street and Hawthorne Boulevard when he was approached by a group of four teenagers and asked the man if he had a cell phone. The man said no and was pushed to the ground, when a female started to go through his pockets looking for a phone. The group ran off and did not take anything from the man. He stated that there were two females and two males in the group. The area was searched and nobody matching the description given was located.
Arrests
Sept. 11, 5:10 a.m.: Michael Patrick Conway, 41, of Putnam Street was arrested on a warrant.
