Former Student Apologizes For Prostitution Arrest

The student was arrested last week in Salem, Mass.

A former Marblehead High School honors student is apologizing to friends and family following her arrest on charges of prostitution last week in Salem.

“[I’m] really embarrassed over the article written about me,” Harvey shared with Patch in a Facebook message. “I’m really sorry to all my friends and family I’ve hurt through this nasty heroin addiction, and I hope one day I officially beat it. Thank you guys for your support.”

In a subsequent message, Harvey wrote, “Maybe if people read that they will understand the pain addicts go thru [sic] in [sic] a daily basis... I would just like people to know addicts are good people who believe they need to do bad things because they don’t deserve any better.”

Harvey also noted that aspects of the article were “wrong,” but did not offer clarification.

According to Salem News, police arrested Harvey after responding to an ad she posted on the website Backpage. She pleaded not guilty to the charge.
