Four Arrested During Drug Bust Near Peabody Street Park : Police
Salem police arrested four men and seized over one pound of marijuana as well as several thousand dollars, according to police reports.

SALEM, MA—Four men were arrested during a drug bust in the Wendy's parking lot near Peabody Street Park Tuesday night, according to Salem police reports.
James Laubenstein, 21, of Norwell was charged with distributing marijuana, a drug violation within 100 feet of a park, and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Connor W. Donahue, 22, of Atkinson, NH; Ryan M. Hanlon, 21, of Norwell; and Brian J. Hassard, 22, of Danville, NH, were each charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, drug violations within 100 feet of a park and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Hassard was also charged with marijuana possession.

According to police, officers were conducting a directed patrol in the South River Walkway area when they observed what they described as suspicious activity in the Wendy's parking lot. Officers called for backup, and four individuals were arrested.
Police seized over one pound of marijuana, along with several thousand dollars worth of U.S. currency, which police say was the proceeds of illegal marijuana sales. Salem police booked and jailed the men Tuesday night, and transported them to court Wednesday.
