Get in the Spooky Halloween Spirit with a Ghost Hunter

Sue Norell will be speaking about her experiences at the First Church on Saturday.

Do you want to get in the spooky Halloween spirit?

This Saturday, veteran ghost hunter Sue Norell from New Jersey is taking time out during her annual October visit to Salem to talk about her experiences at 2 p.m. at the First Church at 316 Essex Street.

Norell is a very enthusiastic ghost hunter and teller of stories, noted local lecturer Jim McAllister said. She has worked with many of the ghost hunters seen on television and has spent countless nights sitting in long-closed, mental hospitals, prisons, and private buildings hoping to interact with the spirits of folks who are no longer among the living.

Norell has had many a hair-raising experience, and will share some of her favorite stories along with images and sounds captured on equipment used by ghost hunters everywhere, McAllister said. She will also talk in general terms about the types of spirits and interactions ghost hunters can have with them.

McAllister agreed to organize the event for Norell on short notice. They are limiting the audience to 30 people at Norell’s request and there will be an $8 charge to defray the rental of the hall and to give Sue something for all her troubles in putting this together.
