Green "Lasers" Disturb Resident's Cats: Salem Police Logs

SALEM, MA — The following are excerpts from the Salem police logs. Information below does not indicate a conviction.

Dec. 31
3:16 a.m.: Police responded to Lafayette Street for a possible past assault. An anonymous call stated that a group in the hall was in some sort of argument. Officers arrived and checked the building, but nothing showed.
11:37 a.m.: Officers responded to the East India Square Mall on a report of undesirables hanging out in the foyer area. Two homeless people were sent on their way.

4:24 p.m.: Officers responded to Lafayette Street for a report of green lasers being shined in an apartment building. A resident reported that an apartment across the street was pointing green lasers in her apartment and disturbing her cats. An officer observed that the lasers were the neighbor's christmas tree lights, and that it was reasonable to expect that the lights would be taken down soon.
Jan. 1
12:50 a.m.: Police responded to Hilton Street for a possible fight. One man was placed into protective custody.

Jan. 2
Police were sent to the corner of Summer Street and Endicott Street for a possible loud party in the basement. Police could see several people in the basement. They were able to enter the home through an unsecured door and located 21 people in the basement. Police spoke with Gabriel Cruz who stated he had just rented the house and only moved a few items in, and had several people listening to music in the basement. Police say Cruz became confrontational with police and was placed under arrest for disturbing the peace.
Arrests
Jan. 1, 2:01 a.m.: Marc Anthony Fernandez, 24, of Boulder, CO, was arrested on a charge of Class B Drug Possession.
Dec. 31, 2:20 p.m.: William John Knapp, 32, of Salem was arrested on charges of trespassing and breaking and entering of a truck for a felony.
Jan. 1, 12:30 a.m.: Nolan Surette, 24, of Swampscott was arrested for a marked lanes violation, speeding in violation of a special regulation and operating under the influence of liquor.
Jan. 2, 5:50 p.m.: Gabriel A. Cruz, 19, of Lynn was arrested for disturbing the peace.
Jan. 2, 4:13 a.m.: Ambar Y Pimental, 33, of Cherry Street in Salem was arrested for larceny by check under $250.
