From Salem Firefighters Local 172: This fall, over 130 Salem children from low income families will receive brand-new winter Coats Courtesy of The Salem Firefighters Local 172. For the 1st year, Salem Firefighters have partnered with Operation Warm, a national non-profit dedicated to providing hope, happiness and warmth for children in need through the gift of new Winter coats. The collaborative, community-based program has impact far beyond the Salem area. Firefighters across the USA & Canada are bringing this program to the communities they protect.

This year, Salem Firefighters will provide coats to children attending Salem Public Schools.

"We felt this was a great way to give back to the community that we serve and to also make sure these kids know that the Fire Department is always here to help "stated Salem Firefighter Andrew Francis. "By giving these children new winter coats before the holidays it's our hope that the families of these children can focus their money towards other necessities."
