'Hate Ends Now' Tour Comes To Salem State On Thursday

The one-day exhibit includes an exact replica of a cattle car used to transport Jews to concentration camps during the Holocaust.

SALEM, MA — An exact replica of a cattle car used to transport Jews to concentration camps during the Holocaust will be part of a one-day "Hate Ends Now" tour visit to the Salem State University campus on Thursday.

The public is invited to view the 360-degree multi-media educational exhibit inside the cattle car as part of the tour aimed at encouraging conversations about genocide and indifference, inspiring involvement in preventing hate crimes and promoting unity.

Hate Ends Now is a collaboration between ShadowLight and NCSY with the on-campus event a partnership between the SSU Center for Civic Engagement and the Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies.

The event is sponsored by alumnus Elliot Katzman, a member of the Salem State class of 1978, former State State Board of Trustees member and Bertolon School of Business Advisory Board member.

Free tours will run every 30 minutes on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the North Campus Quad near the Ellison Campus Center. Walk-in visitors are welcome.

Public parking is available at the garage at 43 College Drive.
