Judge Sentence Homeless Salem Man To Jail For Probation Violation

Christopher Gray, 41, has a long history of substance abuse and was on probation for a 2016 case.

SALEM, MA -- A homeless Salem man will spend the next one to two years in state prison after being sentenced by a Salem Superior Court judge on a probation violation. An attorney for Christopher Gray, 41, told the judge Monday that his client has a long history of substance abuse issues. Two weeks ago Gray pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property.

According to the Salem News, which first reported this story, Gray was arrested in July for stealing tools from construction sites. In 2016 he was given probation for a case that included charges of breaking and entering and possession of heroin.
