Lynn Woman Crashes into Garage, Man 'Walking on All Fours'

An excerpt from the Salem Police Department's Saturday and Sunday logs.

The following is an excerpt from  Saturday and Sunday logs. Calls included a report of a man on all fours. Police also made a number of arrests stemming from traffic stops.

Saturday

  • At 9:55 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a report of flooding by the pool house on Clifton Avenue. Police said the flooding was caused by high tide.
  • Police were called to Holyoke Square to check on a male at 11:47 a.m. Saturday. Police said the caller indicated there was "a male wearing blue jeans and a cap walking on all fours," but "no party could be located fitting this description."
  • At 1:07 p.m. Saturday, police responded to Highland Avenue on a call of a road rage incident. Authorities said a male was pulling out of a handicapped parking space "when another male pulled behind him. The two began to argue." One of the men came "out of his motor vehicle holding a walking cane and continued creating problems," a witness told police. The other man drove away, officials said. Police said they contacted the man with the cane and he told them "he is disabled and used the cane as a walking aid and not a weapon."
  • Police said a Linden Street caller reported a "cat stuck in [a tree]." Police said the "the cat was too far up in the tree to be reached." Police said the "would also not respond to calls of this nature" and the woman was provided with the names of alternative agencies to assist her in the matter.
  • At 2:12 p.m. Saturday, police said they received a call that a motor vehicle struck a garage door on Weatherly Drive. Police said when they arrived in the driveway area, they saw a vehicle with  "significant front end and windshield damage." Police said Stephanie Santarpio, 34, of 7 Chase St., in Lynn, was arrested on a charge of operating under the influence (a second offense) and a marked lanes violation.
  • Police responded to Dearborn Street at 4:26 p.m. Saturday after missing silver was reported. The case was listed as a larceny.
  • At 10:36 p.m. Saturday, police responded to about a broken window in the "left side of the exterior library door." Police said they believe someone broke into the library to break into the main office. Officials said nothing was missing and the building was empty.
  • Police responded to River Avenue at 10:18 p.m. Saturday on a report of loud music. Officials said a resident "was having a holiday decorating gathering…and holiday music was playing outside.

  • Christine D. Adamson, 20, of 43 North Central St., in Peabody, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, speeding, failing to stop for police and assault and battery by dangerous weapon.
  • Steven G. Arvanitides, 37, of 28 Bow St., was arrested on a warrant.
  • Lyle Colantuoi, 23, of 245 Lafayette St., was arrested for assault and battery.
  • Michael McDonald, 46, of 8 Walnut St., in Peabody was arrested on a warrant, violation of harassment prevention and an improper left turn.
  • Martha D. Woodbury, 29, of 27 Harbor St., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle after a license suspension.

Sunday

  • At 1:18 Sunday, police responded to Lafayette Street on a report of a loud noise. Officers went to the second floor of the apartment where there was loud music. When the police knocked on the door and the officer identified himself, voices inside the apartment said: "'Don't open the door. It's the police.'" After several more minutes and knocks, police said the door was opened. Authorities said the host was issued a $100 citation for "knowingly hosting a loud party."
  • At 8:33 p.m. Sunday, a Rainbow Terrace caller reported "two blow up snowmen and one stand-up snowman were taken from her front lawn overnight."
  • Police responded to Ocean Avenue at 8:43 p.m. Sunday after a break-in of a motor vehicle was reported. Officials said both of the callers' motor vehicles were unlocked and entered the night prior. In addition to a GPS and digital camera, police said a bottle of Vicodin pills was stolen.
  • At 9:37 p.m. Sunday, a Summit Avenue caller reported that a radio, cell phone and iPod chargers were stolen from her home the night prior.
  • Police responded to the on Canal Street at 1:13 p.m. Sunday on a call of possible shoplifting. Officials said a customer "was offended when he and his girlfriend were accused of shoplifting." Officials said it was a misunderstanding and no shoplifting had occurred, but the female tried on a hat.

  • John Robert Aia Jr., 40, of 56 Margin St., was arrested on three warrants, violating the city knife ordinance and malicious destruction of property over $250.
  • Ivelio Garcia, 28, of 121 Allen Ave., in Lynn, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without being licensed and speeding.
  • Lee Andrew Gonzalez, 21, of 4 Rainbow Tr. was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and operating a motor vehicle without an inspection sticker.
