Man Accused of Firing Gun in The Point Arraigned: Report

The victim told police the suspect said "I've been looking for you" before firing a gun at him. .

SALEM, MA — A Home Street man accused of firing a gun at his former colleague has been ordered held without bail for at least four months, reports the Salem News. The report further indicates that Frank Mejia, 21, of Salem plead not guilty to charges of attempted murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a firearm without a license and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.

Salem Police Capt. Conrad Prosniewski told Patch in a previous interview that the victim walked into the police station at 7:11 p.m. on Dec. 6 and said that Mejia had fired a gun at him on Prince Street. Police were later able to identify Mejia and arrested him at his home on Home Street. No one was injured during the incident.

The victim told police that Mejia approached him and revealed a firearm, saying "I've been looking for you," according to Prosniewski. Mejia and the victim were former co-workers at Taco Bell, reports the Salem News.
