Man Looking Into Dump Truck, Disturbance at Waterfront Hotel :Salem Police Logs

SALEM, MA — The following are excerpts from the Salem Police Logs. The information below does not indicate a conviction.
Sept. 9
12:04 a.m.: Units searched the area of Burnside Street for a report of loud music coming from a vehicle. The area was searched but units could not locate the vehicle.
1:18 a.m.: Police reported to Canal Street for a possible breaking and entering into a vehicle. Police made contact with a witness that related he observed a male attempting to climb into the open bed of a dump truck. The witness stated the man was looking in the back of the dump truck. When the witness questioned the man, he ran off. An officer searched the pickup, and only found old trash and plastic wrapping in the bed. A unit found three male parties who were walking that fit the description. The witness arrived and could not positively identify the parties. The parties were placed into protective custody.

1:52 a.m.: Police were dispatched to the St. James Church for three people on the steps being loud. Police spoke to three people who were all checked for warrants and those checks turned up negative. An officer noticed a bag of marijuana in an open back pack belonging to one of the men. He was asked if he had a medical marijuana card and he replied 'no.' The marijuana was confiscated for destruction and the three were sent on their way.
6:40 p.m.: Police responded to 10 Howard Street for a report of undesirables. Police spoke to a man who stated that an unwanted man had been staying in the building and he believes that he doesn't live there and may be staying in the basement. The man could not provide any information, and was advised that if the other man returns and is in the basement to contact police.

Sept. 10
6:45 a.m.: Police were dispatched to Waterfront Hotel for a report of a man causing a disturbance in the lobby. Hotel staff told police that a man was causing the disturbance over the fact he was not allowed to use the hotel restroom. Officers made contact with the man, who was angry at how hotel staff were treating him. He was advised that the hotel lobby is private property and is only to be used by guest. He was issued a no-trespass order
6:42 p.m.: Police responded to 3 Cross Ave. for a neighbor dispute over a parking space. Both parties were advised of their rights.
Sept. 11
5:04 a.m.: Police responded to 57 School Street for a report of a disturbance. Police made contact with a woman, who stated that she called police this time because the neighbor started screaming at her out of the second floor window. While talking to the women at the apartment, police heard movement on the second floor and went upstairs to find Michael Conway in a bedroom sleeping. Conway had two warrants out for his arrest, and was placed under arrest. The two warrants out of Salem District Court were for assault and battery on a family member and motor vehicle violations.
Arrests
Sept. 9, 6:28 p.m.: Yonathan manual, 20, of Salem was arrested on a charge of possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance.
Sept. 10, 10:10 p.m.: David William Pierce, 49, Homeless was arrested on a charge of trespassing.
Sept. 11, 5:10 a.m.: Michael Patrick Conway, 41, of Salem was arrested on a warrant.
