Man Refuses to Leave Local Marina Parking Lot: Salem Police Logs

Jan. 6

12:27 a.m. : Police responded to a Courageous Court apartment for a triggered alarm. A tenant confirmed the alarm was accidental.

2:41 a.m.: Police responded to the Lafayette Street Wendy's for a commercial alarm. The building was checked and the area was secure.

8:36 a.m.: Police took a report for a six-car vehicle crash at Colby Street and Hillside Avenue. No injuries occurred.

5:08 p.m.: An officer took a report of a past motor vehicle accident. The complainant also wished to document harassment from the other party involved.

11:16 p.m.: An officer responded to a First Street parking lot for a loud group on the balcony. The area was checked with nothing showing.

Jan. 7

12:39 a.m.: Officers were sent to Witchcraft Heights Elementary School for an alarm. All doors and windows were checked and secure.

1:27 a.m.: Officers were sent to 28 Norman St. for an undesirable man. A clerk at the store said a man was possibly drunk and was in the store and wanted a no trespass order issued. Police were unable to locate the man.

3:12 a.m.: A police unit responded to Lafayette Street for a report of a female ringing a doorbell to get inside the building. Contact was made with a woman who said she came to visit a friend in Salem. The friend became upset with her once she began drinking and asked her to leave. The woman was brought to life bridge shelter for the night until she could make her way back to Lawrence.

12:50 p.m.: The manager of Honey Dew Donuts reported that she has video of a customer leaning over the front counter and taking money from a change box located underneath on two separate days. Police are investigating further.

Jan. 8

10:36 a.m.: Police went to the Kernwood Marina on a report of a dispute. A man from Bill's Towing was trying to lock the front gate, but a motorist had pulled into the lot to view the water and refused to leave. Police informed the man that Bill's Towing had permission to lock the lot, and that he may be locked in if he refused to leave. The man later left before he was locked in.

Arrests

Jan. 8, 10:20 a.m.: Courtney A. Brewer, 27, of Lynn was arrested for shoplifting by asportation.

Jan. 8, 1:50 p.m.: William E. Connaster, 36, Homeless was arrested on a warrant

Jan. 6, 4:45 p.m.: Clarence Stillwater, 32, of Central Street in Salem was arrested on a warrant.
