North Shore Student Shares Goals As Salem State University SGA President
Zach LeColst, of Middleton, is a junior majoring in history and secondary education.

SALEM, MA — Food insecurity on campus and raising the profile of the Student Government Association are two of incoming SGA President Zach LeColst's top priorities as the former Middleton resident begins his first term in office this fall.
LeColst, a junior majoring in history and secondary education, was elected this past spring after previously serving as an SGA senator. He recently moved from Middleton to Salem to help become more involved with the campus.
"As the new president, there will certainly still be a lot of learning on my end, but I hope to do my very best while ensuring that our student government meets the needs and wants of our student body while working closely with our administration," he said in a university profile. "I love helping others, and I take pride in being someone who loves the Salem State community.

"One day, I decided to join SGA to try and get myself out there more and to step out of my comfort zone," he said. "This was the best thing I've done. Being involved on campus allows you to make so many memorable connections and amazing memories, which really makes you cherish experiencing college life much more."
"Looking back, I had no idea what SGA had in store for me. The events we host and help plan are amazing, and the people we work with and have in our organization are what makes our student government so unique."
Move-in weekend for Salem State students begins on Sept. 2 with the academic convocation on Sept. 5.
