Peabody Essex Museum To Host 'Year of the Rabbit' Lunar New Year Event
The festival of entertainment and activities will be free with museum admission on Jan. 28.

SALEM, MA — The Peabody Essex Museum will host a lineup of Lunar New Year Festival events to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit.
The day of activities and performances — which are free with museum admission — will be Jan. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Events will include a tour through Yin Yu Tang, the museum's 200-year-old Chinese home, performances, storytelling and artmaking, with featured collaborators Gund Kwok and Limin Mo.

A dance performance with the Asian Women's Lion Dance Troupe Gund Kwok will run from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Gund Kwok, which means heroine in Chinese, is a women's empowerment program that features Lion and Dragon dance.
The performance will be held in the main atrium.

There will be self-guided tours through Yin Yu Tang every 30 minutes from 10:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. with reservations required.
Limin Mo will host a storytelling program recommended for children 12 and under from 10:30 to 11 a.m.
An art-making program featuring Chinese calligraphy and zodiac animal bookmarks will be held for those of all ages from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A second drop-in art-making program featuring screen-printed tote bags will be held for those of all ages from 1 to 3 p.m.
