Peabody Man Charged In Encore Shooting Arrested In Salem
State police said Steven Gonzalez, 33, was charged in the Dec. 1 parking garage shooting at the Encore Casino parking garage in Everett.
SALEM, MA —A man whose last known address was in Peabody was charged Tuesday with armed assault with intent to murder and other gun charges in connection with a Dec. 1 shooting in the Encore Casino parking garage in Everett, according to State police.
Police said Steven Gonzalez, 33, was found in a Salem apartment where the U.S. Marshals Task Force, State police, Salem police and Everett police took him into custody Tuesday morning and brought him to the Salem Police Station for booking.
Everett police and members of the State Police Gaming Enforcement Unit responded to the parking garage for a report of shots fired on Dec. 1 and found evidence of gunshots. State police said an investigation determined that Gonzalez was the suspect in firing "multiple rounds at a group of men following an altercation."

Police said Gonzalez fled the garage and left the area in another person's vehicle.
No one was believed injured in the gunfire.

An arrest warrant was issued in Malden District Court charging Gonzalez with armed assault with intent to murder, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, carrying a firearm without a license and unlawful possession of ammunition.
Police said when Gonzalez was located on Tuesday he was arrested without incident.
