Phase 1 Of Salem's Common Bandstand Restoration Project To Start
All work next week is expected to occur through the North Washington Square entrance near Oliver Street, the closest access point.

SALEM, MA—Phase one of the Salem's Common Bandstand Restoration project will start next week, according to city officials.
All work is expected to occur through the North Washington Square entrance near Oliver Street, the closest access point. Contractors will park in three spaces on the North Washington Square side of the Common. Construction hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. most days.
City officials say they have asked the contractor to not arrive prior to 7 a.m., but if they do, to not idle. If hours need to be extended, they say additional notification will be made.

The city is working with the contractor to find best path to avoid damage to common during work. Officials said the contractor is required to restore any damaged areas.
The Salem Common Bandstand was constructed in 1926 to commemorate Salem’s Tercentenary.In 2018, the city began a multi-phase project to restore the Bandstand.
