North Shore LGBTQIA+ Pride Month Events Leading Up To Annual Salem Common Festival
The public is invited to the flag-raising at Salem's Riley Plaza on June 1 with events also in Beverly, Danvers, Marblehead and Swampscott.
SALEM, MA — Salem will kick off a month of LGBTQIA+ events and recognition with the raising of the Pride flag during a ceremony at Riley Plaza on June 1.
The public is invited to the ceremony and brief speaking program to celebrate the city's diverse community at noon.
Salem Public Schools will be participating in the 2023 North Shore Pride Parade on June 24 to honor and celebrate its LGBTQIA+ students, staff, and families.

"Now more and ever, let's show the world how we celebrate our vibrant Salem Public Schools LGBTQIA+ community," SPS said on its Facebook page announcing the participation.
The parade kicks off at noon and ends at 1 p.m. Staging is at Shetland Park, 27 Congress Street, Salem starting at 10:30 a.m., and it ends at the Salem Common.

A North Shore Pride Festival will follow at Salem Common from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Danvers will also host a flag-raising at the police station at 3:30 p.m. on June 1, with a flag-raising at Danvers Town Hall at 4 and a reception at the Peabody Institute Library from 5 to 7 p.m.
The Marblehead Pride flag-raising will be at Abbot Hall on June 3 at 3 p.m., while Swampscott will host a Pride event on the Town Hall Lawn from 4 to 7 p.m. on June 3.
The Beverly Pride flag-raising will be June 8 at City Hall at 5 p.m.
