Recreational Pot Sales In Salem Still On Hold
A month after stopping sales, Alternative Therapies Group still won't say when they plan to resume recreational sales.
SALEM, MA -- Alternative Therapies Group still hasn't corrected the data entry error that forced it to stop selling marijuana to recreational buyers last month. And the city's first recreational pot retailer still won't give a timetable of when it may be able to resume sales, according to the Boston Business Journal, which first reported this story.
The company has not responded to multiple requests for comment from Patch in the weeks since it first shut down recreational marijuana sales in February. And this week a spokeswoman for the Cannabis Control Commission, the state agency that oversees the legalized marijuana industry, told the Boston Business Journal said it has not gotten any updates, either.
The company was forced to suspend sales after discovering "corrupted" data in a state system designed to track plants from seed to sale using RFID technology. The company, which also operates a medical marijuana dispensary in Salem, said those customers are not affected.

"It not physical inventory. It’s a data entry issue. None of the other licensees are having issues with [inventory tracking system]," Steven Hoffman, the chairman of the Cannabis Control Commission, said at a hearing on March 7. "It’s working just the way it should."
