Revere Man Facing Federal Charges For Salem Drug Deals

If convicted, Jassiel Ramirez, 23, faces mandatory sentencing of 5 to 40 years in prison.

SALEM, MA -- Federal investigators arrested a Revere man Thursday and charged him with one count of distribution of 40 grams or more of fentanyl. The U.S. Attorney's Office said Jassiel Ramirez, 23, distributed fentanyl in and around the Princeton Crossing apartment complex in Salem on Sept. 18 and 21. He was scheduled to appear in court Thursday afternoon.

The charge of distribution of 40 grams or more of fentanyl carries a minimum mandatory sentence of five years and up to 40 years in prison, at least four years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $5 million. Sentences are imposed by a federal district court judge based upon the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
