Roneline Ramoutarsingh (Mrs. Singh) of Witchcraft Heights Elementary School was recently honored with the 2022 Margaret Voss Howard Teacher Recognition Award for Salem. Her nominators said, "Mrs. Singh’s third grade classroom is a supportive community where her students’ 'glow' areas are celebrated and their 'grow' areas are given sunshine and water." They cited many special lessons, activities, events, and celebrations that lead to student growth and joy in learning.

The Marblehead recipient, Constance Milburn, kindergarten teacher at Glover School, received this year's award for Marblehead. Both were nominated for their exceptional teaching and for inspiring strong student progress, even in the midst of upheaval due to the pandemic. They also exhibit great relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Each is a worthy "representative of all the excellent, dedicated teachers in the community who make a difference to children every day." They were chosen by a selection committee from nominations made by colleagues, parents, and students.

The award is a fund of the Essex County Community Foundation.
