Salem Couple Robbed After Winning $20,000 At Rhode Island Casino

One of the two robbers remains at large, while the other was arrested in Stoneham.

SALEM, MA -- Police believe a Salem couple were targeted for an early-morning robbery hours after winning more than $20,000 at Twin River Casino in Rhode Island. The two suspects were armed with a knife and a gun when the broke into the couple's Essex Street apartment around 1 am Saturday morning. One of the accused robbers was arrested in Stoneham but the other remains at large.

According to Fox 25 News, the couple initially gave the robbers $4,000. The robbers, however, ordered them to turn over the entire jackpot. During the robbery one of the robbers referred to the other as Anthony, the couple told police.

Neighbors told Fox 25 that the couple had not been seen since the robbery and may have moved.
