Salem Dispensary Resumes Recreational Marijuana Sales
The problems prevented ATG from tracking marijuana as it moved from its production facility to the dispensary for sale.
SALEM, MA — Alternative Therapies Group resumed recreational marijuana sales, six weeks after problems with the Salem dispensary's inventory records in a state database forced it to stop selling marijuana to recreational customers. While ATG had claimed data had been "corrupted," the state Cannabis Control Commission said the problem stemmed from how the company entered records into the system, known as Metrc.
The problems prevented ATG from tracking marijuana as it moved from its production facility to the dispensary for sale to recreational customers. The company, which also operates a medical marijuana dispensary in Salem, said those customers were not affected.
"We deeply regret that we will not be able to honor recreational customers, even those with scheduled appointments, until further notice," ATG said when it announced the suspension of recreational marijuana sales on Feb. 20.
