Salem Fire Crews Battle Hotel 4-Alarm Blaze: Roads Closed, Detours
Drivers were asked to avoid the area of Bridge Street as crews worked on the 4-alarm blaze at the Cove Hotel on Monday.
SALEM, MA — A fire at the Cove Hotel in Salem reached four alarms on Monday morning with drivers in the Witch City urged to avoid the area of Bridge Street, with roads closed and detours in place.
The blaze at 40 Bridge Street was showing heavy fire at the recently renovated hotel.
"Please avoid the area to allow firefighters to work the scene," Salem police said at about 11 a.m. on Monday. "Anticipate road closures and detours."

The fire began in a room and quickly spread to the attic,according to media reports.
No injuries were immediately reported.
