Franklin Street Fire Rips Through Transmission Shop Office

SALEM, MA — A two-alarm blaze ripped through the offices of a transmission shop office on Franklin Street, flames bursting through the roof late Wednesday night. The fire roared deep into the damp night, causing a reported half-million dollars in damage.
The fire occurred at the offices for Ideal Transmissions. The roof partially collapsed, according to multiple reports. There were no injuries, but the blaze caused at least $500,000 in damages, The Boston Globe reported.
