Salem Heritage Days Schedule For Tuesday, August 7

SALEM, MA -- Heritage Days in Salem run through Monday, August 13. The schedule for Tuesday's events are listed below. See the complete schedule on the event Web site.

Salem Senior Event: The AARP SMART DRIVER PROGRAM – 11AM – 4PM – 5 Broad St.

AARP has offered safety refresher courses since 1979 to more than 11 million graduates. The aim is for older drivers to better understand the updated technologies in new vehicles, provide a refresher on the rules of the road, and learn strategies to compensate for age-related changes in vision, hearing, and response time. There is NO TEST to take and NO ACTUAL DRIVING and a certificate of completion will be awarded to each participant. COST: $15 for AARP members; $20 for non-AARP members. Lunch will be served. This class is sponsored by the Salem Senior Center. All participants must pre-register by calling Rosanna Donahue at (978) 744-0924 x 43006. Checks should be made out to AARP.

National Night Out – 5PM-8PM – Salem Common

Join the Salem Police Department and local organizations and businesses celebrate community. The night will be filled with free activities crafts, games, food, K-9 Demonstrations, and lots of public safety vehicles to explore.

North Shore Concert Band – 7PM–9PM - Salem Willows Shell

Come listen to Band Favorites as they close out the summer concert series. (rain date: Thurs. August 9th)
