Salem Holds Final E-Waste Recycling Day Of 2016

On December 31, Salem invites you to bring your old electronics to the e-waste recycling day at Salem High School.

From The City of Salem: On New Year’s Eve day, Saturday December 31, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. until noon the City of Salem will hold its final e-waste recycling day of 2016 at Salem High School at 77 Willson Street.

This program allows residents to drop off e-waste items, such as iPods, batteries, battery back-up units, car audio equipment, cell phones, digital cameras, gaming equipment, flash drives, flat screen TVs and computers, power cords, etc. for recycling. All personally identifiable information will be destroyed through this recycling program. RMG Enterprises will responsibly recycle all parts.

Almost anything with a plug can be recycled; most items are free. There is a $10 fee for computers, televisions, and large appliances.

Collection of e-waste not only reduces the amount of materials to be incinerated, it re-cycles many valuable items such as copper and eliminates the health and environmental risks created when these items are broken apart and the toxic chemicals inside are released.
