Salem Hosting Textile Recycling Day
The event is part of America Recycles Day on November 15.

SALEM, MA - From SalemRecycles: In honor of America Recycles Day, celebrated annually on November 15th, SalemRecycles is partnering with HELPSY to host the City of Salem’s eighth Clothing and Household Textiles Recycling Drive on Saturday, November 17th from 8:00 am to1:00 pm at Riley Plaza.
“We are pleased to partner with HELPSY for this year’s textile drive. Providing a central drop off location for textile reuse and recycling just before the holidays is appreciated by residents,” states SalemRecycles member Erin Huggard, a founder of the Salem event.
What began as a program to educate Salem residents that used household textiles and clothing can be reused or repurposed has, over recent years, become an anticipated community event. Fittingly celebrated the Saturday before Thanksgiving, the textile recycling drive has grown each year with residents arriving by car, truck, scooter, Zipcar, bicycle, and even by foot.
