Salem LGBT Pride Month to Begin with Flag Ceremony
Pride flags will be flown above Riley Plaza and Salem City Hall during the month of June.

SALEM, MA—June is LGBT Pride Month in Salem, which will feature different events which celebrate the city's diverse population.
Salem Mayor Kimberly Driscoll announced Wednesday that local officials and community groups will kick off the festivities with a Pride Flag Raising Ceremony at Riley Plaza on June 3.
Gary "Gigi" Gill, a Salem resident and LGBTQ activist, donated pride flags that are set to be flow above City Hall. The flag raising ceremony is set to begin at 10:30 a.m.

The ceremony will consist of a brief speaking program including an interfaith prayer and song at Riley Plaza.
The North Shore Pride Parade and Festival is also set for June 24. Residents can go to www.northshorepride.org for more information.
