Salem Lifting Snow Emergency At Noon On Friday

If you parked in one of the lots designated for parking during the emergency, you need to remove you car by noon.

SALEM, MA -- Salem's snow emergency will end at noon on Friday. People who had parked private, public and school lots during the snow emergency that went into effect midnight Wednesday need to remove their cars when the snow emergency ends.

The city is also reminding residents that property owners to remove snow and ice from their bordering sidewalks within six hoursafter the snow ceases to fall or the city's snow emergency lights are turned off, whichever time is later. If the snow ceases to fall and the snow emergency lights are turned off in the nighttime, the snow shall be removed before 12:00 noon. If he/she neglects to do so, he/she shall be fined $25 for 1st offense, $75 for 2nd offense and $100 for 3rd and subsequent offenses.
