Salem Looks To Fill Two School Principal Positions

Bates Elementary School Principal Thomas Milaschewski stepped down​ at the end of the 2017-18 school year.

SALEM, MA -- Salem Public Schools posted job opening notices Wednesday for the principal positions the Bates Elementary and Collins Middle Schools. Superintendent Margarita Ruiz is hosting information sessions for staff and parents to provide more detailed information on the steps in the hiring process, timeline and how staff and parents at each school can be further engaged in the process.

The Bates Elementary School Information Sessions will be held at the school on the following dates:

  • Faculty & Staff (Voluntary) -- Wed., January 16 at 2:15 PM
  • Parents -- Wed., January 16 at 6:00 PM in the Library (Childcare and interpretation will be provided. Email mmarino@salemk12.org if you need childcare).

The Collins Middle School Information Sessions will be held at the school on the following dates:

  • Parents -- Thurs., January 17 at 6:00 PM in Chambers (Childcare and interpretation will be provided. Email mmarino@salemk12.org if you need childcare).

Bates Elementary School Principal Thomas Milaschewski stepped down at the end of the 2017-18 school year, creating one of four vacancies at the 12 schools in the district. Milaschewski was accepted by Harvard University into a program to pursue a doctorates in Education.
