Salem Man Arrested for Firing Gun at Former Colleague
Police say the suspect fired the gun in the Point neighborhood.

SALEM, MA — A Home Street man was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly firing a weapon in the Point neighborhood of Salem following an interaction with a former colleague, Capt. Conrad Prosniewski confirmed with Patch.
Frank Mejia Jr., 21, was arrested at his home without incident on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, attempted murder, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling and unlawfully carrying a firearm without a license. The victim told police that Mejia approached him and revealed a firearm, saying "I've been looking for you," according to Prosniewski.
The victim was not injured.

"He might be traumatized, but not injured," Prosniewski.
Prosniewski said that the victim walked into the police station at 7:11 p.m. and said that Mejia had fired a gun at him on Prince Street. Police were later able to identify Mejia and arrested him at his home on Home Street.

Prosniewski added that police had not yet found the weapon, and are still trying to determine a motive.
